BOROBUDUR AND SURROUNDINGS

We will pick you up in the morning at the Airport or at your Hotel in Yogyakarta and depart directly to the city centre. We will visit the Sultan Palace and the Taman Sari water castle to discover the rich history of the Yogyakarta sultanate. Your lunch will be at a local restaurant. After lunch we will continue our trip to Candi Rejo near Borobudur. A ride on a horse cart called andong/dokar by the locals is a pleasant sight around the village of Candi Rejo. We will end the day’s trip with a visit to the world’s largest Buddhist temple, Borobudur and its two neighboring smaller temples, Mendut and Pawon. (L)
