Wedomartini is one of village located at northern part of Jogjakarta City. On behalf of Sleman Regency town on the way up to kaliurang or Merapi volcano this area consider is one of farm area in Jogjakarta. Wedo Martani is drive by two-word “ Wedo and Martani”. Wedo means weda (Holy scientific) and Martani means life. About Wedo martini we could see from two period of life, it is historical time and Modern lifetime. From historical side there is some old temples are found around this area which is belong to Hindus and Buddhist time during Mataram Kingdom. Such as Gebang Temple, Kedulan Temple, Morangan Temple Etc. Which is most of this Temple are consist of inscription which inform us about religious life in time, as well as a place where the people can do purification or blessing ceremony to support of existence of Hindu that time. But the important things are see from situation right now, the community still keep some activities which they regenerated from their ancestor who been live few hundred years in relate of tradition and culture. For instant they still have traditional transportation a kind of wagon which full it up bull power they call “ gerobak”. Today time in the area still we can find farmer for rice paddies and vegetable also some of home industry to support of local life.
